TimeTrade takes in $5M in third round

Bedford's TimeTrade Systems Inc. reports raising a Series C round of funding.

Led by Boston's Ascent Venture Partners and joined by existing investor CommonAngels, a Lexington-based angel investment group, TimeTrade raised $5 million, increasing the company's total funding to $13 million.

TimeTrade officials said the $5 million would be used to support "aggressive growth plans," but no specifics were given.

TimeTrade, founded in 2000, develops scheduling software for businesses. CEO Ed Mallen said the company this year is on track to double its revenue for the fourth consecutive year.

The privately held company reports having more than 200 customers, including Pennsylvania-based David's Bridal, New Jersey-based Quest Diagnostics Inc. and the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.
